Indiana October 12-November 7 Voting absentee-by-mail is only an option for voters who are age 65 and up or who have an approved reason, like a disability or a work obligation. Tuesday, October 11, 2022
Iowa October 19- November 7 Oct. 24: Last day to request a mail-in absentee ballot
Kansas November 1-7 All registered voters can request a no-excuse advance ballot and vote from home in November’s general election. Twenty-one days before an election.
Kentucky November 3-5 Oct. 25: Last day to request absentee ballot Tuesday, October 11, 2022

Michigan September 29- November 7 All registered voters can request a no-excuse absentee ballot and vote from home in November’s general election. Monday, October 24, 2022
Minnesota September 23- November 7 All registered voters can cast a no-excuse absentee ballot and vote from home. But you’ll need another registered voter or a notary as a witness. Tuesday, October 18, 2022
Mississippi N/A Sept.24: Early in-person absentee voting: This option is only available to people who qualify, including voters who need to work on Election Day, those who will be away from their county of residence and anyone 65 or older. Monday, October 10, 2022
Missouri If you qualify for an absentee ballot, you can fill it out and submit it in person at your county election authority until Nov. 7 for the general. Oct. 26: Last day to request an absentee ballot by mail; No-excuse absentee voting is permitted two weeks before the Nov. 8 general election. Wednesday, October 12, 2022
Montana October 11- November 7 Any registered voter can apply to automatically receive an absentee ballot in the mail, no excuses necessary. Tuesday, November 8, 2022
Nebraska October 11- November 7 Any registered voter can request an early-voting (absentee) ballot, no reason or excuse required. Friday, October 28, 2022
Nevada October 22- November 4 All registered Nevada voters will receive a ballot in the mail, as stipulated by the new voting law. Twenty-eight days before an election in-person; postmarked 28 days before if registering by mail; five days before if registering online.
New Jersey October 29-November 7 All registered voters can request a no-excuse vote-by-mail ballot and vote from home. Tuesday, October 18, 2022
New Mexico October 11 – November 5 All registered voters can request a no-excuse absentee ballot and vote from home in November’s general election. Tuesday, October 11, 2022
New York October 29-November 6 You are eligible to vote absentee if you’re ill or disabled, have concerns about COVID-19, or are absent from your county on Election Day. Friday, October 14, 2022
North Carolina October 20-November 5 Absentee voting is available to all registered voters. Friday, October 14, 2022
Ohio October 12- November 7 Ohio is a no-excuse voting state, which means all registered voters can apply for and receive an absentee ballot. Tuesday, October 11, 2022
Oklahoma November 2-5 All registered voters can cast an absentee ballot and vote from home in November’s general election, but most absentee ballots must be notarized. Friday, October 14, 2022
Oregon If you’d prefer to vote in person, you can cast a provisional ballot at any county elections office on or before Election Day once ballots are made available. Oregon conducts universal vote-by-mail elections. Ballots will be mailed to registered voters in October for the general election. Absentee ballots are available to college students and people who will be out of town during the election. Tuesday, October 18, 2022
Pennsylvania You can fill out a mail-in or absentee ballot early and in person at your county board of elections office before Election Day. All registered voters can request a no-excuse mail-in ballot and vote from home for November’s general election. Monday, October 24, 2022
South Carolina October 28-November 5 Absentee ballots are available only to some voters, including people 65 and older, those who are sick or physically disabled and those who will be out of town on Election Day. You’ll need a witness signature to cast an absentee ballot. Friday, October 7, 2022
South Dakota September 23- November 7 All registered voters can request an absentee ballot for the general election. Monday, October 24, 2022
Tennessee October 19- November 3 Absentee by-mail ballots are available to certain voters, including anyone age 60 and older and people who will be traveling outside their county during early voting and on Election Day. Tuesday, October 11, 2022
Texas October 24- November 4 Mail-in ballots (formerly called absentee ballots) are available only to registered voters who are 65 or older, are sick or have a disability, are incarcerated but otherwise eligible, or will be out of their home county on Election Day and during the early voting period. Monday, October 10, 2022
Utah Early in-person voting is available in all counties, but the window of availability may range from four days to two weeks. All active registered voters in Utah will automatically receive a ballot in the mail. Friday, October 28, 2022
Vermont Sept. 26- Nov. 7. All active registered voters were mailed an absentee ballot in late September to vote in the general election Friday, November 4
Virginia September 23- November 5 All registered voters can vote absentee by-mail in November’s general election. But you’ll need to apply to do so — and you’ll need a witness signature on your absentee ballot. Monday, October 17, 2022
Washington October 21- November 8 All registered voters will automatically be sent a mail-in ballot for the general election, so they can vote from home. Ballots will be mailed to voters on Friday, Oct. 21, or earlier Monday, October 31, 2022
West Virginia October 26- November 5 Registered voters who are ill, disabled, or traveling or studying outside of their home counties or who meet other criteria can vote absentee.  Absentee ballots will be approved for voters confined to home or to a health facility due to COVID-19 exposure or who have COVID-19 symptoms. Wisconsin There is no formal early in-person voting, but you can cast an absentee ballot in person before Election Day at your municipal clerk’s office. Dates and hours vary among localities. All registered voters can request a no-excuse absentee ballot and vote from home in the November general election, but you’ll need a witness signature before you submit your ballot. Wyoming September 23-November 7 Voters can submit completed absentee ballots at their county clerk’s office starting 45 days before Election Day — that’s Sept. 23 for the general election. Monday, October 24, 2022
